[2017/06] The PhD thesis by our former student Lin Li (李林) was selected as the "Outstanding PhD Research Theses" and recently published by Springer! The thesis title is "Manipulation of Near field Propagation and Far Field Radiation of Surface Plasmon Polariton". Congs to Lin!

[2017/05/22-26] Prof. Tao Li, Dr. Shuming Wang, Ji Chen, Wange Song and Chen Chen attended The 8th International Conference on Surface Plasmon Photonics (SPP8) held in Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan.
Prof. Tao Li delivered an invited talk entitled "Plasmonic holography from in-plane to out-of-plane".

[2017/04/27-30] Prof. Tao Li, Dr. Shuming Wang, Yulin Wang, and Beibei Xu, attended the International Symposium on Plasmonics and Nanophotonics (iSPN) held in Dalian. Prof. Tao Li delivered an invited talk entitled "Imperfect phase matching for beam engineering and OAM demultiplexing". Yulin gave a contributed presentation entitled "Graphene Optical Modulator Based on Groove-Structured Metasurfaces". Beibei provided a Poster entitled "Simulation of Massless Dirac Fermion in Plasmonic waveguide arrays", which was awaded the FIRST PLACE of the "Best Student Paper Contest". Congs to Beibei.

[2016/07/25-29] Dr. Shuming Wang and Ji Chen attended The 6th International Multidisciplinary Conference on Optofluidics held in Beijing. Dr. Shuming Wang gave an oral presentation - "An ultra-compact polarization-encoded quantum controlled-NOT gate based on hybrid waveguide". Ji Chen delivered a poster -“Demultiplexing vortex beam into surface plasmon wave by well-designed gratings”.

Prof. Tao Li gave an invited talk "Plasmonic vector near-field for composite interference, SPP switches and optical simulators". [2016/05/02-07] Prof. Tao Li visited the research group of Prof. Yuri Kivshar and Prof. Dragomir Neshev in Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia. He also met with the Deputy Director of Research School pf Physics and Engineering, and the Convenor of the Photonics Programs, to discuss preliminary ideas and proposal about the mutual student exhange programs between NJU and ANU.

[2016/04/19-23] Prof. Dingping Tsai from Acadmia Sinica, TaiWai, is invited to visit Nanjing Unviersity, with beneficial seminars and discussions with our group, and dilivered a wonderful speech in "天地工学论坛" with a title of "Photonics for the New Era".

[2013/01/25] Our paper entitled "Collimated Plasmon Beam: Nondiffracting versus Linearly Focused" is published in Phy. Rev. Lett. 110, 046807. This is a new step in fully steering the SPP beam. Congs to Lin.

[2012/07/04] Prof. Tao Li gave a seminar talk in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. “Engineering Plasmon beam by in-plane diffractions”. Thanks to Prof. D.H. Zhang.

[2012/05/07-11] Prof. Tao Li made an Oral presentation in CLEO/QELS 2012, San Jose, USA. “Steering surface plasmons on metal surface”.

[2012/04/19-22] Prof. Tao Li made an Oral presentation in Meta'12, Paris, France, “Non-perfectly-matched in-plane diffractions for generation of plasmonic Airy beam”.

[2012/04/08-11] Invited talk, Prof. Tao Li, Fonrentier of Plasmonics (FOP2), Chengdu, China, “Steering Plasmons on metal surface”.

[2011/9/22] Our paper entitled "Broad Band Focusing and Demultiplexing of In-Plane Propagating Surface Plasmons" is published in Nano Letters 11, 4357, in which we report a new achievement in SPP beam engineering. Congs to Lin.

[2011/09/15] New progresses in manipulating the SPP beams! We developed a novel in-plane diffraction stratagy to modulate the SPP beam phase and wavefront, by which an interesting Plamsnic Airy beam is achieved with non-diffracting, non-dispersive, self-bending, self-accelerating properties. This paper entitled "Plasmonic Airy beam generated by in-plane diffraction" is now published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 126804, and elected for the Editorial Suggestion. Congs to Lin!

[2011/06/26-30] Prof. Tao Li made an Oral presentation in ICMAT 2011, Singapore. “Plasmonic Metamaterial to Convert the Light Polarization at Optical Frequency”.

[2011/05/26] We Held a “China-Russia Joint Workshop on Plasmonics”in Nanjing University with Prof. Fedyanin's group from Lomonosov Moscow State University.

[2011/05/22-25] Prof. Tao Li made an Oral presentation in International Conference on Nanophotonics (ICNP2011), Fudan Univ., Shanghai, “Enhanced SPP propagation by optical parametric amplification”.

[2011/05/19] Prof. Tao Li gave a seminar talk in Department of Physics, Hongkong Baptist University, Hong Kong. Thanks to Prof. K.W. Cheah. “Plasmonic structures: manipulating optical polarization and nonlinear process”.

[2010/08/18-28] Prof. Tao Li and Dr. Shuming Wang, visited Department of Quantum Electronics, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia.
